So it starts tomorrow! I was first told before Christmas that I had a been given a place to run for the RNLI and so began a mixture of emotions ranging from excitement to a certain trepidation which comes with having the responsibility of trying to raise £2,300 for such a worthy charity.
However as some of you know I am crew for Barry Dock and have been voluteering for the RNLI for just
over 2 years. I am proud to volunteer for the RNLI and am equally as
proud and excited to be able to run the London Marathon 2012 for the
charity - especially in an Olympic year!
So from tomorrow I'll be using this blog to chart my progress to the big day. I will be posting the runs I go on, the routes, the weather, the diet, the (hopefully not too much) blood, sweat and tears that go into working up to being able to run the marathon!
I have started a Twitter page (@Ed_RNLI_Ldn2012) which will be used to post comments to my blog and have also started a Virgin Money fund raising page which you can view here.
I must make you aware that the RNLI is an independent charity, and does
not receive any support from the UK government. We rely entirely on
voluntary donations and wouldn't be able to save lives at sea without
your continued and appreciated support.
Keep checking back for updates!
Ed
